About the island
Sal covers an area of around 216 square kilometers and is home to approximately 35,000 people. The island's capital is Espargos, located near the center of the island. Just outside the town lies Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID). The most well-known resort town is Santa Maria, situated on the island’s southern tip, famous for its beautiful beaches and vibrant atmosphere.
